The Ukrainian artist LES PANCHYSHYN began cooperation with famous American gallerists

The world-famous Ukrainian artist LES PANCHYSHYN began to collaborate with Bruce Lurie Gallery.

Bruce Lurie Gallery was established in the early 1980s in New York’s East Village. Bruce Lurie has a history of launching emerging artists into the main-stream art scene, including assisting Leo Castelli showing Jean-Michel Basquiat's early works.

The gallery has since relocated to Los Angeles Culver City Arts District, now in Pacific Palisades, CA. The gallery has a particular focus on establishing emerging to mid-career artists specializing in cutting edge pop art, street art, abstract minimalism, photography and a wide range of monumental sculptors. Bruce Lurie Gallery also advises clients on acquiring and selling secondary market art collections.

LES PANCHYSHYN  said: «I am honored to partner with Bruce Lurie Gallery. The galleries are located in Los Angeles and Park city. It was interesting that we met in Miami. The gallery participates in top art fairs.

For example: CONTEXT art  Miami, Affordable Art Fair New York, Hamptons Fine Art Fair, Art Market San Francisco, LA Art Show.

My paintings have already been presented at the Affordable art fair New York. But now they will be exhibited in the gallery located in Park City, and later the other part of the paintings will be exhibited in the gallery located in Los Angeles.

We were introduced by a mutual friend. After that, Craig and Scott immediately came to see the paintings live. And according to them, they were pleasantly surprised. Then negotiations were held and I provided part of the paintings for exhibition. Since I work in various subjects, it was very interesting for me to listen to the opinion of professionals in my field. The gallerists chose animal motifs for their collaboration. This is a series of paintings with penguins, rabbits, there are also several figurative and landscape works. Since they have several galleries they will be able to show my different subjects.

The selection process is based on knowledge and feeling of the art market. We discuss it and choose which paintings are better to show in one place or another».

The artist and gallerists hope for long-term and productive cooperation.

Craig Lurie told: «I got to know LES‘s work through a friend of mine also from the Ukraine, who told me that he had a very good friend his who was a great artist and happens to be looking for representation here in the United States so I jumped at the opportunity, and just found his works to be extremely unique and colorful with nice composition and made me smile! I was impressed by the subject matter and it just spoke to me. We have several European artists that we’ve worked with many years. I don’t want to say collaborating with, but we’ve represented Artists from Europe, so we look for international artist‘s  as well. We don’t just limited to domestic as we do trade show’s and  were starting to expand to around the world not just staying within the United States.  I like the fact that his work appeals to the masses of people with certain styles I think everybody enjoys to look at and get inspiration, the very expressive and they show  personality, and I love the vibrant colors he uses! Our objective  is to put him  on the map for people will identify his work wherever they go. Specially, people that go to galleries, frequent gallery goer’s  and trade shows that’s the whole idea to create a market for his work. It takes years to establish a market for a new artist, especially one who has no credentials in the United States. It is a job that takes time and effort, and its people who start collecting work to add value for free. It's all about the resume, so with what we hope to do and achieve, I'm sure one day we can say it could be a good investment. You can only do your best and hope for the best».
