The Kesavananda Bharati Case was a landmark Supreme Court of India decision concerning the basic structure of the Indian Constitution. The Constitution of India, which is the supreme law of India, is a document that has been amended many times since it came into existence. The Kesavananda Bharati case was about whether an amendment of the Constitution could be challenged by the citizens of India. The court ruled to not allow any amendment of the Constitution without the consent of the citizens.
